We began in 1984 as a small soup kitchen in Orange, California, serving just over 60 people with two hot meals a day. Over the past four decades, Mary’s Kitchen has grown into a trusted community anchor for individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
Our farmer’s-market-style Mobile Pop-Up Food Pantry operates six days a week, serving two or more communities each day. This model prioritizes dignity, access, and choice while overcoming transportation barriers and ensuring consistent, reliable food support.

Three Nonprofits, One Mission
We are committed to environmental stewardship and are working toward net-zero emissions by 2035 through food recovery, waste reduction, and environmentally responsible operations.
In 2024, we expanded our work through a food sustainability initiative designed to reduce both hunger and food waste. In 2025 we joined the Community Food Support Coalition, OC so that we could do more. Today, we distribute more than 25,000 pounds of rescued food each month, serving over 16,000 food-insecure individuals across Orange County.
With support from the Kroger Co. Zero Hunger | Zero Waste Foundation, Mary's Kitchen MKP isone of three nonprofit organizations that form the Community Food Support Coalition, OC.
